About us
Founded in 1988, Brand Architects is an East Melbourne practice led by five directors. We are a Certified B Corp and Climate Active carbon neutral organisation. We recognise that all our work takes place on Country, and we listen, learn and work with respect for First Nations cultures and knowledge.
Our work has been recognised by the Victorian Architecture Awards, Victorian School Design Awards, Learning Environments Australasia, National Trust, Green Star and the AFL, across education, early learning, sport and community architecture. Our focus is on the ambition and quality of our work, not the size of our practice.
Three Pillars That Guide Our Values
-
Innovative
We stay curious, keep learning and look for better ways to design and work. We encourage our people to question, explore and lead, combining new thinking with the experience and practical judgement to make ideas work. We set high standards for ourselves and look for opportunities to go beyond what is expected, making considered decisions that serve our clients and the practice for the long term.
-
Meaningful
We act with honesty and respect and remain responsive to the people and communities we serve. Sustainability is part of every decision we make, from the buildings we design to the way we operate our practice. We also value a healthy balance between work and life, recognising that meaningful work should leave space for life beyond it.
-
Together
Architecture is shaped by many voices. We work openly and respectfully, listening to different perspectives and creating space for everyone to contribute. We value diversity and inclusion, recognising the different experiences and perspectives people bring to our work. We share responsibility and respond to the needs of our clients and communities.
-
Reconciliation
We recognise that all our work takes place on Country. We are committed to listening, learning, and working with respect for First Nations peoples, cultures, and knowledge, and to embedding this understanding meaningfully within our practice.
-
Sustainability
We approach sustainability as an ongoing responsibility rather than a fixed outcome. Our work prioritises long‑term environmental performance and conscious design decisions, supported by measurable actions within our projects and our practice.
-
Recognition
Our work has been recognised through industry awards, publications, and professional acknowledgements. These reflect the collective efforts of our team and collaborators, and our shared commitment to quality and integrity in practice.
